music should be free. thats it.

as a band we dont need you to pay for an mp3. we reason that if you like what you hear you will probably:-

a) turn up at a gig and rock out with us
b) send us a mail sharing your happy thoughts
c) order a vinyl record to put on your wall or play on your dusty old record player

otherwise dont bother: - just enjoy the music and tell your friends about whats on yer mp3 player.

all these alternatives are equally good for us -the point is: the music is the only thing that matters, and it needs to be free.
the alternative is chaos

for info: we distribute our music digitally under the "stabbingpixies use-not-abuse contract". this means that ordinary people get our music for free, but corporations and commercial ventures have to pay for it, or contact us to work out an agreement (this stops our music being used for tampon adverts and the like).

we recommend all musicians make their music available in this fashion, in the belief that the world needs more music, and less people trying to make a buck.
